Women’s Try the Track

Description: Due to the overwhelming popularity of our six week track cycling program, we are offering an evening Try the Track session for those who missed out. This program is being run in conjunction with the Calgary Bicycle Track League (CBTL) on Friday Aug 6, 2021 from 6pm – 8pm.

Participants are not required to own a track bike, they will be provided by CBTL, our coaches will set you up on a bike, teach you rules of the track, teach you the ins and outs of riding a track bike, and get you riding all the way up to the rail. All you need is a helmet, some comfortable clothes, and the willingness to try a new thing!

Capacity is limited to 18 participants

Women’s Virtual Bike Basics

We have moved the safety and maintenance portion of our road clinics online!

This will allow us to offer more new riders the confidence and skill to start their riding season right. We have partnered with a few great shops local to several participant areas so if you run into trouble or need some equipment, you can swing by your local shop and they will take care of you.

Course length: 90min
Wednesday June 2, 2021 at 6pm   OR   Sunday June 13, 2021 at 9am

Course content:

  1. Bike check and quick repairs
  2. Helmet fit
  3. What to wear / dressing for the weather
  4. What to carry / fueling for your ride
  5. Packing your pockets
  6. Flat repair

Women’s track cycling development program

This program has been running through the Calgary Bicycle Track League (CBTL) since 2016 with Watt Riot Cycling volunteering to take over programming and coaching in 2017. The program runs for six (6) weeks on Monday evenings beginning May 17th, 2021 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at a cost of $75 to participants. Participants are not required to own a track bike, they will be provided by CBTL, our coaches will set you up on your bike in the first session, you will need to remember you bike number and saddle height for sequential weeks.

Participants will learn everything for basic track skill through to racing and motor pacing. The program is progressive and we recommend participants attend all sessions. Capacity is currently limited to 18 participants to allow for two (2) COVID-19 cohort groups with physical distancing and coaches.

At any time participants not holding full CBTL memberships have the option to “top-up” there fees and become full CBTL members with access to all other CBTL programming.

Women’s road cycling development course

This program was launched in 2017 and sold out space within 36hr of announcement.
Typically our road program runs for 5 weeks, participants learn everything from changing a flat and packing for a long ride to bike handling, to crit racing and climbing skills.

This year, we are excited to be coaching Rise and Ride Road Clinics for RNR Premier Events from May 22, 2021 to June 26, 2021.
